A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation has attended activities of the 19th APEC Leaders’ Week, reflecting the country’s unceasing increase of strength and power after 25 years of renewal, said Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

(VNA )- Viet Nam is strongly committed to join efforts with APEC to speed up the liberalisation and facilitation of trade and investment.

State President Truong Tan Sang made this statement at the 19 th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Week Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Nov. 13 (local time).

The 23rd APEC Foreign-Economic Ministerial Meeting took place in Honolulu, Hawaii, the US on Nov. 11, within the framework of the APEC Summit Week. Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang led the Vietnamese delegation to the event.

The 14th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting successfully concluded in Hanoi this afternoon, November 19, with the issuance of the Hanoi Declaration, containing the leaders’ commitment to "spare no efforts" to revive moribund world trade talks.”

The 18th APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM) opens in Hanoi Wednesday with a focus on practical measures to strengthen cooperation and the multilateral trade system, including resuming the Doha talks.

The 14th APEC Economic Leaders’ Week has started in Hanoi on November 12. The event is of great importance for APEC member countries in seeking deeper co-operation in various fields, said President Nguyen Minh Triet in an interview granted to Nhan Dan newspaper.

The APEC CEO Summit 2006 under the theme “Towards One Community: Creating New Opportunities for Shared Development” will take place at the National Conventional Center in Hanoi from November 17-19.
